concern

I am a male. I have pain  when I urinate that comes and goes for the past 2 weeks. The pain can be slight or intense, no reason for the differing levels of discomfort, I have been drinking only water for the past 2 weeks, and lots of it. 2 weeks ago, I noticed a small amount of white discharge in the morning, none since but I have been able to milk out some discharge some mornings (not all). I have discomfort in my lower abdomen and feel pressure in my kidney's. I had these symptoms before and they caused concern in the past but always go away.  Last summer and was tested, all tests came back negative.  Was treated with 1g azithromycin and  then 7 days of 500mg/day of cipro.  I was tested again 5 weeks later and again all tests were negative.
I have been in a monogamous relationship for several years.
I had tests done last week and received test reults and again, all negative...
What could it be? Trichomoniasis?
Could I have an STD? What are the odds of false negative tests and drug resistant infections?  I am guessing that the odds would suggest something else.
Help...

Urine analysis and penis culture results came back normal across the board, prostate exam and everything.  Mentioned Trich to the doctor and he said highly unlikely and no further testing was required.

He is referring me to a urologist.

I should clarify the abdominal and kidney pain is not STI related.  I am only responding to the pain on urination and discharge.

sounds like your symptoms are characteristic of persistent NGU, and Trichamonas could be the underlying cause.  Yes, your partner could be asymptomatic as well.  The only way to tell for sure is testing for her.  Testing for you might yield something, but may not.  Same for your partner but testing is typically more reliable in women.  It may be worth treating both of you at the same time just to verify if there are any changes in your condition.  If your recent tests are negative and you discuss treatment with your doctor and it doesn't help, you will need further follow up, potentially from a urologist.  Keep us updated.

My Doctor took a urinanalysis and a culture, waiting for those results.
My thought is Trichomoniasis, which I have read is not tested for in men?  Are the symptoms not similar?
Could my partner be an asymptomatic carrier and I keep re-infecting myself?

Have you just tested for STD's or spoken to a Dr about the symptoms because this has nothing to do with a STD. See a Dr to discuss other possibilities.
