herpes? help

Hi I was wondering if you could have a herpes outbreak without any visible sores.  I recently have been going through a lot of agony.  I first thought that I had trich because I had a yellowish/green discharge so i went to my gyn and she said it looked like a regular yeast infection and prescribed fluconozole.  After 1 week it was still there so I went to the clinic and got tested she did a pelvic exam and said my cervix was inflammed and was often caused by chlamydia so she gave me zithromax.  I then started feeling a lot of pressure in my lower abdomen to next day and painful urination, as well as my acutal pelvis being very sore.  I decided to go to my primary care doctor and see if I maybe had a uti ...she said no and prescribed me  levaquin in case it was gonorrhea.  I am still feeling a lot of pain in my lower abdomen I was just wondering if this sounds like herpes?

p.s all this pain started happening after the pelvic exam and now I have a thicker whiter discharge

thank you so much AJ your such a godsend.  I actually went to my gynecologist today and she said everything looked normal ...my cervix was fine and the only thing that seemed to be wrong was the fact that one of tubes was dilated which she said that well have to keep an eye on just incase.

She also told me that she already tested me for gonorrhea and chlamydia in my pap smear.  I told her I didnt know that it tested for that and she that for all her younger patients she requests it.  That was a relief and if my boyfriend is telling the truth then my test results from the clinic should come back negative as well.

I wouldn't be worried.  It could be a bit inflamed with everything else going on, too.

aj I just wanted to add one more thing.  Last night and all yesterday I noticed my sciatica nerve was bothering me on my right side.  Should I be concerned since something this is an indication of herpes. I mean sciatica alone is nothing to worry about but combined with all my other symptoms makes me nervous

PID isn't confused with herpes, and cervicitis may be, but that would be rare.

Why don't you just get a blood test for herpes and see if you have it, and get a doctor to look at these spots for you.  Don't assume the doctor will see it - point it out to them.

Ask for a type specific IgG herpes blood test.

And if you are on the levaquin for 14 days, that's the correct dose for PID.

i have 500 mg once a day for 5 days

i have been on it for two days and i still have lower abdominal pain...it has been subsiding somewhat but is still kind of prevalent.  I also have one more question about herpes.  I am concerned...very concerned.  I know that herpes can often be mistaken for ingrown hairs I have what I thought to be ingrown hairs for a long time I always thought it was from shaving and getting waxed.  I have a few what i believe to be ingrown hairs on my labia they are not clustered and very far apart.  I think I can see a hair in them but Im afraid to pick at them incase they are herpes.  I am just so scared about the herpes thing.  I also want to know if Fordyces granules can be confused with herpes vesicles (are they generally bigger or smaller, or around the same size.)  I always thought the small like bumps were that since my gyn was never concerned about them.

I know I sound obsessed but my bf has had a cold sore before and preformed oral sex on me.  Not during an outbreak but I know it can be transmitted anyway.

And i read online that yeast infections, cervictis and pid are often diagnosed when the real problem is herpes.  I have been diagnosed with all three and still pain is continuing.  Pain in my vulva and discharge are the two that are really the most annoying.

What dose of levaquin were you on?  If you got the proper dose, it should take care of the PID.

im sorry for posting it twice i just thought that i would try putting it in both forums because i was really nervous....

I have one other question about PID ...if i did have PID and it was caused by lets say chlamydia or gonorrhea wouldnt the zithromax and the levaquin take care of the pain in my lower abdomen not make it worse?

Or do you need other specific antibiotics to treat PID on it's own?

This has been answered in the herpes forum, but no it doesn't sound at all like herpes.  You need to follow up with your doctor promptly to check for PID.
