i have stabbing pain in my penis for about 6 months off / on

usually this pain happens at least once a day, i dont have burning urination, sometimes the urine is especially smelly.

recently i've developed really bad low back pain, as well as random stabbing pains in my feet, hands, etc.

my bladder has also started to feel tight. its hard to explain this feeling. its not like i need to go pee or anything it just feels.. tight/ or sore?

i have an appointment at my local planned parenthood for std testing, but i dont think they do blood cultures and HSV or HPV would have to be tested with blood cultures correct?

yes PP can do basic urine testing to check for infections just probably your regular provider is better follow up for this at this point than PP is.

Hello

I think that is was grace was trying to say: no reason to think this is herpes. As it doesn't sound like herpes.

We don't know the answer to your last question as we don't work at the PP you are going to.   Call them and ask.

i dont need cultures done? isn't that the only way outside of an outbreak to determine HSV? i'd rather not live in fear that this could be herpes - or am i msitaken that it would rule it out?

from what i've read it could be so many things, like you mentioned kidney stones, a uti, a bladder infection, diabetes, cystitis. even fibromyalgia haha (joke)

basic urine testing ? the PP i am going to on tuesday does a urine test - can they check for a uti/bladder infection or other infection?

we don't have a hpv test in males.

you don' t have any reason to have blood cultures done.

some PP offer type specific herpes igg blood testing but most don't. you will need to ask and find out what your PP clinic offers.

Honestly I'd just follow up on this now with your regular provider. You need some basic urine testing done and also have to have kidney stones ruled out too.
