is it std or a super bad yeast infection?

Went to doc yesterday. thinks it's a yeast infection but did a herpes swab anyway. said their were lesions but that they looked like they were from friction.
gave me diflucan.
Woke up crying and in total agony last night. got an ice pack from the freezer and was able to get back to sleep.
Extremely painful today...couldn't even walk in tears.
Tried home remedies some relief found however the lymph nodes on both sides of my hip where the ball and socket joins are are swollen.
yesterday I also had a fever....

could a yeast infection truly cause this much pain or could it be something else.... should I insist on being seen again...

I have to return to work on sat and I can't even stand up with out winching in pain...what do I do???

went to ER today because I almost passed out during my hair apmt....when I went to the card I was violently vomiting so straight to the er we went
so the said the  yeast is gone and they gave me 3 kinds of antibiotics for PID... did the full check for any stds and thankfully all seem to be negative... probably due to weakened immune system from stress and non proper hygiene with my accessories.

gave me zithromax, doxycyline (spelling) and Flagyl as well as some vicodin for the pain...

feeling better and will pick up the meds tomorrow so now it's watch and wait game... thank you everyone for all your support! You have been wonderful.. and i send ya all good karma back!

You aren't going to die.  Well, you are someday, but not from this.

Fuzz - if you have darvocet, and it helps, then take it.  The topical ointment might work better, but as long as you aren't abusing the darvocet, and you have it legally, then take it until you get the topical stuff.

I don't know why she is so hesitant to prescribe you antivirals.

Poor girl. I'll pray for you and many people here. Last night, I had trouble trying to sleep. I'll get my results at next wednesday and I'll talk to my doc next saturday. I just can't wait to start taking the meds.

I'm feeling A LOT of pain in my knees. Today, when I woke up, it's almost gone. The pain was really awful last night and now (from an 1 to 10 scale), it reaches 3. And today, 2 hours ago I had another pain. I felt pain in my testicles, again. But now it's 4:48 pm and all I feel is a little pain in my right knee (level 3 XD). I took about 12 pills of paracetamol and amoxicilin. My knee was red and now it's completely normal. I just hope God can help me. Give me some time until I can talk to my doc and start taking the meds. Please. I don't wanna die.

just got off phone again...
she gave me diflucan a few days ago..she's telling me eitherway if it's herpes or the yeast infection it should get better in a few days... it's been a few days!

I asked for pain meds and told her I had been taking some darvocet I had and she said i should have not to take that... she said she would look into some topical cream to numb it and call me back..

omg it hurts so bad.. i think tomorrow if it's not better I will just go to the er and they can help me. a..lso now there is a patch of skin that looks white...

Its fairly common to prescribe them right away, since they won't hurt anything if you don't have herpes, and the sooner you treat herpes, the faster it heals.

Herpes could absolutely burn and itch.  If it hurts to pee, pour water over yourself as you pee, or pee in a tub of water.  I know it sounds awful right now, but make sure to drink plenty of water, as that will dilute the acid in your urine, and it will hurt less, whether or not this is herpes.

Lymph swelling can occur with herpes, and might with yeast, if its severe enough.  Did she prescribe any yeast meds?  Since your skin is so irritated, ask for an oral med and not a vaginal one.  If you use a vaginal one right now, you'll hurt bad enough to hate your doc forever.

If you don't have blisters, the culture could come back as a false negative.  Cultures have a high false negative rate.

I'm sorry you are hurting so much.  :(

called doctor today.
so far the herpes culture came back negitive but they are going to check it again as they said it can take up to two weeks to grow.
they are spoused to call me back and let me know what they can do for pain management...
the doctor said that the lymph node swelling means that the body is starting to fight off the yeast infection...
should I be concerned with lymph swelling? Also I have extreme pain when I pee, the urine irritates the already swollen and inflamed skin.

Would herpes burn and itch?? the doctor said I"m not presenting like herpes but due to my amount of pain she's not ruling it out.

she hasn't prescribed any anti-viral medicine... is it normal to prescribe them right away or to wait for a dignosis?

You could be in the midst of a primary herpes outbreak.  Did your doc prescribe any antivirals?  If he didn't, call today and ask for some.  Valtrex is good, but expensive if you don't have insurance, and acyclovir is a much cheaper alternative that works just as well.

You can also ask for a prescription of lidocaine ointment, which is a great pain ointment.

Ask the doc if he ordered the herpes culture to be typed, as knowing which type you have is really important to know for transmission rates, etc.

You can also visit the herpes home page for more great advice.  Go to www.herpeshomepage.com, and then click support forums.

Hope you feel better!!
