is this normal?

I just noticed some unusual itching in the rectum area.  Its been going on for about 3 weeks now.  I finally took a look at it and noticed there are some purple colored spots around the ring of my rectum.  They arent big bumps but I suppose are a little raised but certainly cannot be popped. They almost look like areas of trapped blood.  Ive never had anal sex, but does this sound like an STD such as herpes.  I was thinking hemorrhoids but i wasnt sure if they looked like this. Thanks for the help

No, herpes doesn't cause epididymitis.  Epididymitis is very painful, and I'm guessing you don't have that.

You really need to follow up with your doctor.  I'd say its totally possible for hemorrhoids to cause pain if you have them internally.  That could be pressing on a nerve or something.

I have been having some off and on pain/ aching in my scrotum area, rigth around my balls.

Can herpes cause epididmytis or is it usually caused by gonnorhea and chlamydia?
Can a doctor detect epididmystis by feeling your scrotum or is there a a particular procedure that needs to be done?

I also have pretty bad hemmorhoids so i wasnt sure if that could potentially cause pain in the scrotum area

Thanks for your help

o ok ya thats what i had thought too i was just curious.
I have an off topic question to ask you, so whenever you get a chance to answer is fine.  You have been a great help this whole time and I was just wondering.....

Are you a doctor or have you studied this stuff before, because i was just curious as to how you knew so much about these topics?

That would probably vary from person to person.  My herpes sores never last 10 days anymore, but the ones I had from the first outbreak lasted a couple of weeks.

From what I understand, herpes sores in the urethra make it HURT to pee - like peeing razor blades.

ok sounds good i do plan on visiting the doctor at some point.  Just wondering though....
If someone had herpes sores in the urethra how long would they be there for.  Are they like all herpes sores that last for on average 10 days or would they last for a lot longer being in the urethra?

Thanks

That's not a common spot for warts, but you need to be seen by your doctor.

When i spread the opening of my penis to look down my urethra I noticed to bumps along the lining.  One small one about 1/8 an inch down and the other on the opposite side about  3/4 an inch down roughly half the size of a BB.  When i first open it, it sort of sticks to the other side of urethra.  They almost look like an off white with a red blood dot in the center.  I tried touching the one closer to the top and it did hurt a little bit.  The larger one is just too far down.  I believe i have experienced some itching in the urethra but never really payed attention to it because it was never to severe.  There has been no discharge or bleeding however.

Would any sort of bump or lump in the urethra be a sure indication of genital warts.  I'm pretty sure they have been there for almost 2 weeks?

Thank you so much for all of your help

It could be a pimple, a cold sore or something called cheilitis.  Your doctor will be able to tell.

Can you read my last post please.  I also have a question i meant to ask as well.

Is it normal to get a pimple in the corner of your mouth like that or is that a sure sign of a cold sore?

It does hurt a little bit too when i stretch my mouth open.

Is there a goo way to tell the difference between a normal pimple and a herpes cold sore.  5 days ago in the bottom corner of my lips right where the lip line ends I felt what im assuming was a pimple starting to emerge.  It was pretty hard underneath the skin, two days later the whole thing was pretty much white, so i popped it.  The white is gone but im a left with a small bump i suppose that feels like a hard scab.

Is this a pimple on the lip or does it sound like herpes?  Like i mentioned I could feel it coming up a day earlier and i dont recall having one there before.

okay thanks for taking the time to look at that.  I to thought it was a bit weird to have symptoms spread out so much like that, but my body is all messed up.  i didnt know i could take a herpes test sooner like that, but its good to know.

i just want to thank for all of your time, you've been a great help.  I hope we are both right in that I dont have herpes.  I did learn a valuable lesson though, even though i try to be as safe as possible.

I don't know what you have, but you can test for herpes at any time.  Most people test positive sooner than the 4 months.  I really doubt its herpes, though.  You just wouldn't get all over symptoms from herpes.

Maybe you have an allergy or back injury, like we talked about before.

Aj,  I just wanted to thank you for all of your help I'm sure I have been a pain in the neck, however discussing any symptoms I have or think I have is helpful in trying to get through this fear of having herpes.  I decided I would try to stop bothering you so I took everything that has happened to me and broke it down.  Can you please take a look at it and let me know if this sounds like a typical case of herpes or just coincidence.  Thank you.

Day 1:  I had protected with an unknown female while intoxicated.  There was also about 10 sec of oral sex and possible 5 sec of intercourse without a condom

Day 3:  I start to notice I have a real white tongue and dry mouth.  No lesions or cold sores.  The white film comes off when brushing but returns throughout the day

Day 4:  I notice a few very tiny shiny bumps at the base and on the scrotum.  Doctor says it does not look like herpes or any other STD.  Tested for oral thrush which came back negative (brushed my tongue before going so I hope that did not throw the test off)

Day 9:  I have itching all over my body for one day and then itching in the genital area, particularly the scrotum lasting for about one week.  Itching around the rectum also occurs although there was absolutely no anal activity

Day 15:  I feel an unsual pain in my right buttocks

Day 16:  I feel as though I am experiencing some frequent urination

Day 17:  I feel an unusal growing pain like ache down my left leg before going to bed.  The pain was gone by morning

Day 30:  I go to the STD clinic to get tested and here are the results
HIV- oralquick test negative ( hoping it is accurate after 30 days of last potential exposure)
    Syphillis, Gonohrrea, Chlamydia-  All negative
Herpes-  Need to wait the 4 months before getting a blood test

Day 39:  My left arm begins to go sting and the nerve from my shoulder to my hand begins to ache.  next day the pain was gone.

Day 40:  A large pimple on my right butt check appears.  It hurts to touch and sit on and I eventually pop it which currently has a scab.  I believe its the same type of pimple I have had in the same spot before (close to the crease between my buttocks and right hamstring) but I am not positive.

Day 41: My left right starts to feel numb and has that feeing as though its falling asleep.  The pain/numbness starts in the hip and runs all the way down to my feet

day 42:  Two red marks (appear to be potential pimples, similar to the other one) start to form on the left butt check in the same general area.

Today:  There are a few small bumps still at the base that do not appear to look like herpes but more like raised scars from poping the bumps (no pusss just a clear liquid and blood).  There is occasional itching in the genitals and rectum area (appears to be no rash).  There are purple like "bumps" in the rectum which I beleieve and hope are hemorroids.  and the big pimples ( which are red spots) still appear on the buttocks.  lastly, i still have a bad white tongue and dry mouth

Thanks so much for the help

Herpes infects the sacral ganglia, not the sciatic.

I'd say you did something to aggravate the sciatic, and you don't even have to have had a big injury to do that.

i just have a quick question regarding symptoms of herpes and the nervous system.  After some research I believe my sciatic nerve in my right leg is whats causing all this trouble.  Its pretty painful and starts in my back/hip, suns down the back of my leg and into my foot.

Does herpes typically effect the sciatic nerve?

I have read some articles that indicate herpes usually effects that nerve but you will also see lesions.  My last encounter was a month and a half ago, no lesions yet and the pain started about 4 days ago for non-stop.

Have you gone to the doctor yet?  You can keep coming up with new symptoms, but we still won't be able to diagnose you.

For the past 2 days i have been experiencing a mild ache in my right leg.  The ache feels like my leg is falling asleep and possibly becoming a little numb so its not so much an agonizing pain.  I know this is a real open ended question and everyone experiences something different, but does this sound like herpes or are muscle aches usually more painful?  Thanks for your help

That's probably just a pimple or something - not an std.  Herpes wouldn't get big like that.

okay so after all this std talk I came accross another question.  For years now I have had a big pimple like thing that pops up right in between the crease of my right buttocks and leg.  It gets pretty big but is also very soar.  I never really thought anything of it until now, becuase i just assummed it was a hair follicle.  It gets pretty red when i try and pop it but it usually doesnt seem like anything comes out of it.  It comes and goes periodically, so could this be an STD like herpes.  Its one big pimple that appears in the exact same spot every time and has been there since i can remember which im not sure was before or after i engaged in sexual activity.  Thanks again and i understand its hard to determine without looking at it.

It could be, but a doctor will need to do a test and an exam to find out for sure.
