male yeast infection

I have a recurrent case of male thrush (candidiasis) that I am dealing with. I am a 25 year old male, and generally in good health. It started months ago, both myself and my ex-partner got it at the same time, found some lists of reasons that may cause this and birth control pills she was using seemed a likely candidate. We treated with clotrimazole cream. She got better within a week and has not had any symptoms since then. In my case, the treatment seemed to work at first, but a few weeks after I stopped applying the cream it came back. I do have high blood sugar, although I not diabetic, maybe this has something to do with it. No more sex without condoms since then either. I went to a doctor and got prescribed itraconazole 100 mg, 2 a day for 20 days, plus miconazole cream. Again, it worked, but again it came back after stopping the treatment. Second time I went to a doctor I got prescribed fluconazole 200 mg, 1 pill per week for 12 weeks, plus clotrimazole cream. I have taken 5 out of the 12 pills, so 7 more weeks to go. I recently finished the whole tube of clotrimazole cream and have been using coconut oil as a substitute (read online that it worked well for male candida). The white spots were well gone within a few days of the first fluconazole pill, but for the past 4 weeks I haven't seen many changes. Penis looks and feels almost normal, but veeeery slightly red, and I don't feel any pain or itching except for a very low level of itching/pain for a few hours afer masturbation. On one hand I feel like 3 months of fluconazole should do the trick, but on the other hand I'm scared it will come back again after I finish treatment. Don't have health insurance and can't afford doctor visits in the US (very low income). Both times I went to the doctor were in latin america and were affordable.

Any information that could help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I am dealing and have been dealing with some thing similar for years now.  What is the possibility of trichomoniasis being the problem?  The reason I ask this question is because that is exactly what has happened for many years with my previous partner.  Almost every time unprotected, she would get one and avoid intercourse while taking regular yeast infection medicine to relieve the problem.  This eventually led to condoms every time including the pregnancy factor, but insertion for any amount of time would cause the following infection, this fixed issue.  I have since gotten another partner who I've used protection with every time for intercourse and had no issues until the first overnight experience where night and morning sex with no shower in between and foreplay touching before the condom for the first time has led to, what she has told me as diagnosed by her doctor a allergic reaction to a diff brand of condoms we had just tried and a concurrent yeast infection that was compounding the excruciating pain my partner was feeling...  The worst pain of her life as described by her.  She is younger and said she's never had a yeast infection before so I'm not sure how painful a yeast infection could be.  She was prescribed meds for yeast and cream for swelling.  That are slowly making it better after four or five days.  I have read extensively on candida overgrowth syndrome and trich.  I've not had consistent symptoms of anything but after oral sex right before she had to go to doctor because of the eventual pain, I feel horrible!  I'm experiencing every symptom of COS as described in this link. http://draxe.com/candida-symptoms/  she didn't say anything about the discomfort and I believe I had extensive...,  Oral sex with her while she had a yeast infection.  I am a healthy fit construction worker who has done no strenuous efforts out of the ordinary, and I can hardly bend over!  My lower back is like I've been hit with a baseball bat.  Seriously concerned about prostatitis!  Knees and wrists and hips ache from the inside.  Is it possible I had COS and passed to her through sloppy protection use, and after her getting yeast infection I performed the oral that has made me sick to the point of having every symptom very badly because I ingested it!?  I feel like I've just been hit on the head and am almost all the way back from being unconscious but can't shake off the fog and ringing in my ears...  All the time.  If it was trich and she was taking meds for yeast, how could she be getting better??????   And how could my previous partner have made the symptoms go away with the yeast meds for YEARS!  Every time!  Over a hundred times at least!?!?   Please any advise is helpful.  I'm trying to avoid hundreds of dollars worth of test because I don't have doctor or insurance.
