stds and epididymitis

At the end of july, I abruptly came down with very uncomfortable symptoms, such as a frequent need to urinate, burning after urinating, and irritation at the head of my penis. Upon going to my doctor, I was tested for uti'sand stds. I was also put on doxycycline as a blanket antibiotic because it was unknown what was wrong. I was very concerned because I had had an affair that included receiving unprotected oral sex, along with a history of a lot of unsafe oral sex. The tests all came back negative. The doxy worked very well, with symptoms going away. I was almost feeling completely better and only had a few more pills to take when suddenly, out of nowhere, my right testicle began to hurt a lot. I went back to my doctor, and was referred to a urologist. The urologist heard my story and told me that I must have just injured myself and that the pain was unrelated. However, a week or 2 later, my frequent urination and irritation came back, and he put me on macrobid. This seemed to work a little for my urethral problems, but it worked A LOT for my testicle, which started to feel a lot better after weeks of pain. However, I finished the meds and still have many symptoms. He has now put me on cipro for 3 WEEKS and has no clue what's wrong dispite bladder utrasounds and scans. Any ideas?

Okay. Well then, llike I said, I have no idea. Whatever is going is clearly bacterial because it reacted to antibiotics twice. Its just that all of the tests came back negative, the antibiotics don't completely clear things up, and the clown of a urologist I saw just keeps shrugging, not offering me any ideas, and gives me 3 weeks of cipro to take when he doesn't even know what's wrong. My wife and I are working things out, and I want her to be safe, and I want to be safe.

you won't give yourself e coli from using the same lube.

Prostate was checked as well.  Thhough no one has made this diagnosis, I'm pretty sure it's epididymitis, but I don't know what caused it. Be it an std or other bacteria. I was very angry that the urologist has no clue as to what was going on, and that he said the groin pain was unrelated, yet my testicle feels almost perfect, rapidly after having taken macrobid. I'm in my late 20's, sothey say epididymitis from stds is the most common thing. Although, they day before the original symptoms flared up, I had been masturbating in the bathroom and had used a bottle of lubricant that I normally use to penetrate my wife with my finger anally during oral sex, so I'm not saying e. Coli is out of the question

I assume they've also checked your prostate with all of this too?

all you can do at this point is to continue to follow up with your provider. not likely this is a std from receiving oral sex.
