trich, herpes, cpps ???

I'm 54yrs. old. About 4 yrs ago I had an unprot. sexual relationship w/ friend.(regretfully I cheated for the 1st and only time in 35yrs.). After 1st encounter w/ my friend I had no symptoms for 5 - 6 mos. The 2nd time we had sex after 4 to 5 wks. I noticed a slight burning in urethra usually btwn rectum & testicles after ejaculation. Tested neg for std's 2 times. Did have hsv I diagnosed though. Urologist diagnosed it as non bacterial prostatitus at that time.. Haven't told my wife and she has had no symptoms of any kind. This post ejaculation burning has continued pretty much consistantly over the yrs. It's not severe or intense and only lasts 20 to 30 seconds, maybe less. Often wondered if it could still be some type std?  If you would could you answer a few questions for me?

If HSV I, ( I nor my wife have had any kind of lesions on or around the genital areas ) is it possible to have HSV 1 lesions inside the urethra and if so would the sensation continue persistantly without a break? I understand herpes normally has a dormant time between outbreaks.

If Trich would the burning symptom continue for that long (4 yrs) without a break? Would my wife have some type discharge or vaginal problem? She hasn't had any.

My wife has regular gyn check ups & pap test. Would any signs of Trich or HSV 1 or HPV for that matter show up during the visual exam or microscopic tests?

Could CPPS be causing this burning sensation?

I probably should reconsult w/ the Urologist but due to the symptom not being severe but more of a question in my head I haven't done so.

Would appreciate your answers.
Thank you
If it has any bearing I sit most all day, have tons of stress, drink way too much coffee and some alcohol mostly wine and eat a pretty good bit of spicey foods.

I know you're not a physician but you seem to be quite knowledgable about STD's. Therefore a quick question. But first a statement. I've read in posts by Dr H.H.H. on this site that transmitting HSV I by genital to genital contact is very unlikely but scientific research has not been done. Am I correct, if someone has contacted HSV 1 by oral to genital sex can the HSV I be transmitted to anothers genitals thru intercourse? This confuses me  a bit.
Thanx

CPPS is a new terminology for long term prostatitus. I believe the non bacterial type. I've read a number of posts about it and it can be found on google and wikipedia. Actually I still don't quite understand it though.
