No, HSV is almost never included, and you have to ask for it specifically.

He did do a culture on it, the test I'm awaiting results for includes MRSA. So I guess its just a waiting game. It's a very frustrating situation because while I do spend time in hospitals I wear gloves and wash my hands just like everyone else does (probably even more). I have no explanation for this.
I have another quick question. Is an IgG test for HSV normally included in a panel when you get your annual check ups? Or is this something you specifically have to ask for?

You can both have type specific IgG herpes blood tests and see if those are positive. If they aren't, for any type, then this can't be herpes.
If it hasn't healed, get in and see if they can do a wound culture to see for sure if its MRSA. That's way more serious than herpes, and you need to follow up on it.
