hi,

1. can you get a PID even after you've been treated for chlamydia?

2. is there a way to distinguish the difference between symptoms from chlamydia vs. PID? i had lower abd pain once for a few hours and never had that pain again. was that a symptoms of chlamydia or a PID? after that i had a very light period - is that a symptom of chlamydia or PID?

thank you

Symptoms of PID are cramping - moderate to severe, diarrhea, possibly vomiting, fever, discharge.

It doesn't sound like you had PID.

Abdominal pain for a few hours that never returns isn't anything to worry about.  Should you continue to get pain regularly or it gets too much to handle - see your provider.

PID will not come and go like that. Chlamydia is a cause of PID, there may be others too. I am glad you were treated. Remeber to use safe sex practices and always use condoms. Take care.
