2 time with same Symptoms

Dr Dr's

In Jan. I wrote to you (Dr.Hook) with some concern regarding a possible exposure to NGU/Gonorrhea-The post title- "Gonorrhea questions/protect vaginal unprotected oral" the tests taken turned out to be Neg for each of the aforementioned., so I moved on with my life without question.  Now, almost 4 weeks ago I had the same exposure, an uncovered **; between 14-16days later I started to feel the same symptoms. Uncomfortable, sting at head of penis. This started last Fri, but over the w/e it seemed to dissolve on it's own, however, by Monday it was back, and by Tues It felt as though I was "pissing razor blades", without any sign of discharge. I went back to clinic and explained my situation in addition to previous history. They took the same test via Urine, which I am still waiting on results for. I opted not to take the antibiotics, b/c I felt I could live with the pain. Today, I went back to the clinic to ask for treatment, b/c even though I was Neg last time, it seemed to knockout whatever symptoms I was feeling, and the burning upon urination had grown. This time, I took 4 pills at once, and was given a shot.
My question:
1) I felt I was outside the incubation period at around 15days after (low risk exposure), is it possible for NGU/Gonorrhea to manifest that late, without any discharge?
2) last time this happened, a day or so prior to symptoms I was masturbating (with my own saliva) for over an hr or so.The term is called edging, which I am sure you are familiar with. B/c it goes on awhile, perhaps there was trauma with germs and bacteria from my salvia and hand that got into my urethra? It should be noted, again 2 days before the same symptoms this time around, I had the same masturbation session. It may sound silly, just curious if there is any correlation.
3) does this sound like NGU/Gonorrhea or simply a non-std that has to do with germs entering my urethra?

I thank you in advance for your kind reply.

Dear Dr Hook,

Update: Urologist just stated that it may have been a virus, unrelated to anything specific. He prescribed a med to clean out my urethra (not an anti-biotic). I am feeling better, not sure if it's because of the treatment from the other day or, simply that time has passed. I can now board my flight to California without much discomfort.  thanks for your assistance.

I agree that it is not likely, at all, that this is an STI.  Please let me know what the urologist says.  EWH

Dear dr

Thank you for your kind reply. after writing you I received confirmation from the clinic that all tests can back Neg. I hope the antibiotics do something, as it did last time. Although, in Jan I took the meds upon symptoms, while this time I waited 6 days, while the burning symptom got worse. I now suspect kidney stone(s) stuck in my urethra ? I have had minor lower back and some abdominal pain accompanied with soreness. I have an apt tomorrow with a urologist. Upon hearing this news, is it safe to say this is not any type of STD, rather unrelated. FYI: I took cef 250 mg shot and 4xzif =1000mg taken at once. Thanks again for you kind help.

Welcome back to the Forum.  I note that this is your third post since December.  We ask clients to limit themselves to no more than two question threads per any six month period.  I will answer your questions but follow-ups will be limited.

Your recurrence of symptoms is a bit peculiar and is not at all typical for STIs.  A two+ week incubation period is long for an STI, your symptoms are atypical in the absence of a discharge as well as their apparent severity.  It will be interesting to see if your symptoms improve with treatment. I suspect that they may not improve due to the antibiotics but may get better with time.  I also suspect that your tests will be negative.  If I were seeing you, in addition to STIs, I would test for signs of blood in the urine, wondering if this might be a kidney stone being passed.

In answer to your specific questions:
1) I felt I was outside the incubation period at around 15days after (low risk exposure), is it possible for NGU/Gonorrhea to manifest that late, without any discharge?
This would be a bit late, as noted above.

Trauma is possible.  It is possible that your edging could be related. Your tests and how this clears may be a clue to this.

3) does this sound like NGU/Gonorrhea or simply a non-std that has to do with germs entering my urethra?
As noted above, this does not sound like a typical STI.

I hope these comments are helpful.  Please let me know what your tests, including a urinalysis if done, show.  EWH
