Welcome to the STD forum.
It is almost impossible to catch herpes by hand-genital contact, and it is rare to have herpes with symptoms like yours. Conceivably mild intermittent burning on urination could be due to herpes, but extremely unlikley. Minor variations in diet or fluid intake are more likely explanations. I don't really know what to make of "my penis seems to shrink a little and throbbs"; this sounds like an emotional origin more than anything else -- certainly not hereps. And herpes cannot cause an unchanging white spot of the penis.
So given the virtually zero chance of transmission plus symptoms that don't suggest herpes, I see no reason to be worried about it. In the very slim chance I'm wrong and you have genital herpes, you can be sure you caught it from your wife, not from the massges. And this of course is pretty common even in monogamous couples. Half of all adults have oral herpes infections, mostly without symptoms. If your sexual activities with your wife include oral sex, that's where herpes could come from.
If your symptoms continue or you otherwise remain concerned, see a doctor or clinic about your symptoms. You could even have an HSV blood test. However, be clear: if it should be positive, it would not be from your massages.

Herpes can cause nongonococcal urethritis (NGU), primarily showing up as discharge of pus or mucus from the penis. All in all, HSV causes 2-5% of NGU cases. Unlike NGU caused by chlamydia and other organisms, herpetic urethritis tends to be more painful, and there often is redness and swelling of the penile opening. The pain can be excrutiating; a couple of my patients over the years called the the worst pain they ever experience. The large majority of cases include typical skin lesions of herpes on the penis; urethritis alone is unusual. Just like all HSV outbreaks, the symptoms generally last 5-10 days sometimes up to 2 weeks. And also consistent with recurrent herpes, 4 episodes of symptoms in 6 months is more than normal. Herpes due to HSV-2 typically recurs no more than once every 2 months.
Your symptoms are not the main reason I concluded you don't have it. But I think you'll agree this description also doesn't fit well with what you have.
That will be all for this thread. If you want to post an HSV test result, feel free. But until and unless you do so, I will have no further comments or advice.
Dr. Handsfield,
I had tried to look online for the specific signs of Urethral Herpes but was unable to find them. I could only find typical signs of the external herpes. Do you happen to know the signs of Urethral herpes. Also, what STD's if any can be transmitted from hand jobs? There are quite a few sites that say HSV and HPV can be transmitted via a hand job. I know you are a very busy man and will not bother you with anymore questions. Thanks again fo all you do.
No. Herpes is not transmitted by towels, clothing, toilet seats, etc.
Great Thanks
Lastly, is it possible to get herpes from a dirty towel. You know if she wiped herself then me? I don't know why I asked that but you never know. Again thanks for every thing you do.
