4 months of misery

4 months of misery

In December I made a huge mistake and received unprotected oral sex from approx 30 secs to a minute. The next morning I woke up with a pinched feeling in the head of my penis. The following week I went to my Doctor and explained my situation he does a herpeselect comes back positive for hsv-1 I have had it since I was a child so he says no worries there just give it time and it should get better. He gives me a 7 day 500 mg cipro to see if they helps. Fast forward to April 4 months later and the pinched feeling I had has mostly gone away but I have had buring sensation in tip and sometimes on the shaft it feels like I rubbed icy-hot on it, also feels itchy time to time. I have never had any lessons or discharge of any kind. I have worn a codom with my wife ever since and it seems to make the skin right below the head raw and sore but that usally goes away in a day.I just had another full std scan ran at 4 months and negative for all again except hsv-1.Now today I am having scrotum pain but that happens sometimes when I go a while without having sex. What would you suggest my next step be? more antibiotics more testing this is driving me insane does it sound like a certain std that I should mention to my doctor? Thanks again for all your help your board has really helped.

Thanks for the thanks about the forum.

The only reasonable conclusion is that you have no STD and never did.  STDs from oral sex are uncommon; no STD can cause symptoms 'the next morning'; every STD that exists takes at least 36-48 hours before symptoms begin.  The only possibilities for urethral pain or 'pinched feeling' the next morning are physical or chemical irritation (e.g., from spermicide, irritating vaginal perfume, latex allergy, etc) or anxiety, which can markedly magnify otherwise normal body sensations.  The lack of disease on testing further prove you have nothing, and in any case the antibiotics you have had would have cured anything that somehow was missed by the tests.  I see no reason not to resume unprotected sex with your wife.

See this thread from a few days ago, which probably applies to you:  http://www.medhelp.org/forums/STD/messages/4153.html.
