A Little Worried

Ok Well About a Year ago i had protected sex no oral with a girl.. about a week later i started getting itching sensations on my ball sack.. it kept getting worse.. After i itch it for awhile.. it seems to get real flaky and the skin starts to crack kinda like athlete's foot but about a day after that occurs its gone the next day.. The skin on my ball sack is very leathery.. and also the itching has moved closer and closer to my anal region, i did get some STD testing in March at a center and everything came back fine.. Could something of been missed?
Also the itching has started on my elbows and my inner thighs.. Its kinda put a real damper on my sex life.. because i dont want anyone else to be put in this situation.. and i have kind of noticed the itching only gets real bad when i get hott and my ball area starts to sweat.. anyway i just wanna find out of its any type of std.. I dont really wanna go back for the testing cause im not a big fan of needles and i didnt like the idea of the q-tip bein shoved down my penis.. Thanks Doc!!

No STD causes itching or rash of the scrotum, and no STD causes the itchy rash you describe for your elbows, thighs, etc.  Fungal infections, allergy, and various kinds of dermatitis all can cause such things.  In any case, oral sex is very low risk for catching STDs.  Your symptoms are just a coincidence with the oral sex episode.

You don't need STD testing.  You just need to see a primary care provider to learn what you have and how to treat it.  Or if you want to take a stab at treating yourself, try the over-the-counter creams for itching, jock itch, etc.  But defininitely see a health care provider if those don't clear it up.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

My fault; I misread the question.  Sorry.  But it makes no difference in my assessment or advice.

hi there,  it sounds like scabies to me, which I think is the same thing as mites.  I read somewhere that it spreads to other places on your body too.  I've kind of got the same thing i think, i've been itching and tingling for 8 days now and will go see the doctor tomorrow.  I was worried it was herpes, but nothing has shown up out of the ordinary yet.
