A little concerned

A couple of nights ago, I received unprotected oral sex from a woman, likely for about 2-3 minutes. As well, I stimulated her manually, sometimes licking my finger for lubrication. I don't know her history, but assume she has had a number of partners. There is no signs or symptoms thus far, and I just wanted to see what you figure the risks are. No cold sores were evident. I appreciate your help.

Extremely low risk for any STD.  Zero risk for HIV.  The greatest theoretical risk is for herpes, but still very low.  If you develop no symptoms within 10 days, consider yourself home free.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Thanks for the quick reply. I would have thought otherwise, given the literature out there. I guess the best approach to educating people is to use worse case scenarios, otherwise, people will be running around with little regard for their own, and others health.
