AIDs,Gonorea and Chlamydia from oral sex

I may or may not have been exposed to something (no evidence of infection at all) I had a massage parlor girl attempt to initiate fellatio and I stopped her in less than a minute. Do I need to be tested for HIV,gonorrea or Chalymidea? I prieviously posted a question along the same lines about Herpes. What precautions besides condom use are needed in the mean time till the 30 days needed for testing? I had sent the same question to a different site and their answer for the Herpes was the same as yours but they seemed to adopt a "the sky is falling the sky is falling" reaction about getting HIV tested and they seemed worried about Chlaymidea and gonorrea as well But that was a site that offered testing for a price. From all of the research I've ever seen it still doesn't seem like it's easy to get either of the three orally without bleeding gums being present. Your thoughts? I'm absolutely bouncing off the wall with worry about this, and I'm concerened about protecting my wife.  Please advise

See MANY other posts on this; search the threads for such terms as "fellatio", "oral sex", "HIV transmission risk", "HIV anxiety", and "STD anxiety".  The quick response is that the risk of HIV is near zero, even if the person performing it has HIV; there is no known risk for chlamydia, which is rarely carried in the mouth/throat; and a very small risk for gonorrhea and of herpes.  I don't particuarly suggest testing for anything, if you have no symptoms of infection.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Zero chance of HIV or Chlamydia. Very low chance of gonorrea. If you don't have discharge or painful urination within a few days of the exposure, you are fine. You are most likely fine since oral is realativley safe.

Hello Bunt35,

Boy does your post sound like what happened to me!

The Dr. already answered your question in your other post. If he thought that you should be concerned about Gon. or Chla. he would have said so.

You are probably fine, but the only way to be sure is to go and get checked. I was in a panic over the same thing, and I got tested for HIV using the Home Access kit.

I then broke down and went to the dr. and got tested for everything else.

If you can't put it behind you should do the same thing. It took me a long time, but I was able to finally believe that I was okay and that I didn't catch anything.

Guilt will make you nuts. You start to think that because you have cheated that you will be PUNISHED. What worse punishment could you get for cheating than to get an STD and worse yet pass it onto your totally innocent wife?

My advice (which is totally free by the way!) is to calm down and go and get an STD workup. Once you get the negative results you have to accept them and then put this behind you.

I vowed to never again go to a massage parlor and I haven't. That may not work for everyone, but we all have a choice in whether we put ourselves at risk or not.

I decided that the guilt and fear was not anywhere worth the momentary pleasure.

Good luck my friend!

Yeah i appreciate that, I'm done with the massage places and other women totally.  I just need to figure out how to get the test to confirm what I already learned from you guys and the Doc.   I'm military and they don't guarrantee doctor patient privacy.  So I'm paying for everything out of pocket.  I'm looking into what the local health department offers.

I think you should go ahead and arrange for testing. Not because I think you have anything but because it will confirm that you don't.

I am in GA. I called the health department and they told me a I could get an STD workup anonymously, but when I got there they said I had to show my ID and then give them my name, address, social security number and everything. I left without giving them anything.

A week later I went to a general practictioner in a very small town. On their paperwork they didn't ask for my SSN.  I gave them my po box as my address and told them that I wanted nothing mailed to me.  I didn't give them a phone number either. I told them I had no insurance and that I would be paying cash.

Since that was the case there was really nothing to put on my medical records. They really didn't know WHO I was.

Maybe you can do the same thing.

Good luck to you.

if im having discharge and also a slight discomfort that would indicate that i have chlamydia????
also is there a possibility that i could just choose to wait it out, and it will go away or do i really need to treat this with medicine????
