ARS and Paracetamol

by bokyeahlao, May 18, 2008 04:30AM
Doc HHH, if amoxilin has nothing to do to help subsiding the viral infection of ARS....then what about paracetamol...does it react to the ARS? cos i took it then the fever subsided immediately

This discussion is related to A.R.S. and Amoxicillin.

Hi there -

Amoxicillan won't help ARS, but amox is an antibiotic, and ARS is caused by a virus.

Paracetamol is just an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer), and will reduce a fever caused by anything.

If you want a doctor to respond to this, you need to go to the HIV Prevention Experts forum.  I can promise you they will say the same thing I have, and to tell you that if fever is your only symptom, its too vague to even think ARS.

If you want more information, you might post in the HIV Prevention Forum.

my normal temperature is around 36.5....but one day shoot up to around 37+ but never go above 37.4...37.4 i think is a bit fever for me...but after taking panadol and it subsided..so this symptom went on for less than a day...plus i have nasal congestion, sneezing...is this any way related to ARS? or just common cold...

No, it sounds like a cold.

Please post any more questions in the HIV Prevention forum, as that is totally dedicated to HIV concerns.

I assure you that your symptoms are not HIV related.
