I just got out of the hospital with diagnosis of PID. Very bad infection, in hosp. for 3 days. My gyne. said the test proved gonorrhea. I had no symptoms at all, neither does my husband. He swears that he has not been cheating and I know that I have not either. We have been married for 4 years. Is it possible that the test was wrong or I was mis diagnosed. Or do I have a naughty husband? Any help please.

This discussion is related to Long-standing chlamydial/gonorrhea infection(?).

There is a very very small outside possibility that you were misdiagnosed and the test was false positive. However, this is reduced even further by the fact that you had PID which obviously is caused by gonorrhoea, it seems to stack up really doesn't it? I think perhaps you need to have a serious chat with your husband, if possible, go with him to an STD clinic before he has a chance to go by himself and receive medication so he can provide a sample and then go with him to get the results, you'll then be able to know for certain providing you definately haven't been naughty as it were. There are a few cases documented where gonorrhoea can remain symptomless for years and thus it is a slight possibility that he had it before you were married... Hope this helps
