Antibiotic Resistance?

by PathToHealth, May 27, 2009 11:05PM
On October 14th of last fall I noticed a strange sensation in my penis, promptly went to a clinic and tested positive for chlamydia with a urine sample. I took 1g of azithromycin and the problem was healed right away.

I ended up having two new sexual partners a few months later (Jan 10th), and noticed a weird sensation. I went to a clinic and was given doxycycline for 7 days. At the end of 7 days I still felt symptoms (Frequent urination, burning sensation with urination, pain in testicles, a 'twinging' pain in my urethra, an occasional 'leaking' sensation (but no noticeable discharge).

The doc gave me doxy for 7 more days, which didn't help. I returned and this time he performed a swab (Ouch!) and gave me cipro (thought it might be a UTI). I was also given a rocencephalon shot. The test turned out negative, the doc gave me 1g of azithromax, and 10 more days of doxy. When that didn't work, he gave me doxy for another month.

At this point the symptoms were reduced, but not by a great deal. I started pursuing natural remedies for chlamydia for several months, but it hasn't helped. I did some research and discovered it might be trichomoniasis. I went back to my doc yesterday and he gave me 10 days worth of metradiazonyl (spelling?). He wanted to do another swab test for the chlamydia, but I refused. I plan on going to a clinic tomorrow that will do a urine test for chlamydia.

If the metradiazonyl does not work, what should I do? (I know this sounds negative, but I need to have a plan to get through this ordeal)
I will keep posted on the status of the chlamydia urine test.

Wait for the tests and work with your Dr's. That is probably the best that can be done right now.
