Antifungals interfere with STD testing?

by Freaked541, Oct 13, 2009 07:20PM
I had unprotected oral sex 10 days ago and 6 days later I developed a yeast infection (or so i am hoping). I went to the doctor and requested an std and she refused to do one because I didn't have unprotected penetration. She prescribed me Apo-fluconazole 150 which I just took. My question is: I am scheduled for a test for chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes 3 days will the result be affected by the antifungal medication I just took? Should I reschedule.
Thank you!

It should not be affected but herpes test at this time will not be conclusive and is a waste of money. Herpes you really have to wait for symptoms or about 4 months for a conclusive result.
