Are Herpes and the HPV virus the same thing???

Ive been diagnosed with genital warts about 6 years ago from an affair my EX-husband had....I had them surgically removed with no ther outbreaks. Now my pap smear is showing positive for "herpes" ??? I've only had one sexual partner since my divorce..my current husband.  Are these diseases one in the same???

It would be unusual for a pap to find herpes.  I wonder if someone read the "hpv" part and thought herpes, which is "hsv".

I'd call for clarification.  Let us know.

No they are different. I believe you would need a blood test to determine if you have herpes or not. For more info on herpes you can post this question in the herpes community. Or AJ (knows a lot about herpes) should be around sometime soon.
