AuntiJessie, please help!!!

I had protected vaginal intercourse (I'm a male) with a new partner one time about 4.5 weeks ago. The condom was used correctly from start to finish and it remained in tact. The intercourse lasted about 2 minutes. One week later I had a full STD panel done and all but hsv-1 antibodies came back negative. The bacterial infections were checked via urine. 2.5 weeks after I had a mild ghsv-1 out brake. This was cultured and confirmed as hsv-1. Now my LEFT testicle is hanging very low and is slightly swollen. I have noticed no discharge or pain when urinating or ejaculating. I also have a sore abdomen on the LEFT side and judging by recent bowel movements, it does not appear that my food is being digested properly.

How accurate were my urine tests at 1 week? Also, what type (if any) STI would cause these symptoms? I know this is not your expertise, but could this also be a hernia?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks again AJ. So, just to recap, the left testicle may be swollen, it kind of feels like there is fluid around it as well as hanging lower. The right seems normal. Are you saying that the 7 day urine test is CONCLUSIVE? I hate to beat a dead horse, but I want to be sure here.

Yes, chlam and gon can cause swollen testicles, but it wouldn't cause a testicle to hang lower than the other.  That's not really swelling.

Your testing at 7 days is accurate for NGU, chlam and gon.

And this isn't just for you - to find your old posts, just go to your MyMedHelp.  You can even change the background of it to a pretty color.  ;)

Thanks for the reply, sorry about the multiple posts, my first post was buried. I have been researching on the web and it seems that swollen testicles can be caused by chlam and gon when the infection reaches the testicles. Was my urine test at 7 days conclusive for the bacterial infections? I would really like to rule out any std's, but I am paranoid. Thanks again.

Hi there -

Please keep all your questions to one thread - it helps us immensely to not have to search for your old posts to get history.

No std would cause these symptoms.  Its possible it might be a hernia, but you should post in men's health for more info on that.
