Azithromycin/Zythromax

Is it possible that after taking 1g of Azithromycin/Zythromax Chlamydia ISN'T cured/eradicated?  What are the chances of this dosage not working, which was prescribed by a doctor?

If you don't feel better a  week after taking the medication - return to the doctor for a further work up.  It takes more than 1 day for the medication to work.

Thanks for the response Grace.  My partner took the Azithromycin, but for some reason it didn't clear up the Chlamydia in her.  How is this possible?  It has been more than 2 months now.

Were you also treated? Perhaps you are passing the infection back and forth? Usually they treat both partners.

We both got treated and abstained for 6 weeks.  Is it possible that the Azithromycin treatment DIDN'T work on her.  I'm quite sure I have Chlamydia again, and will get test results back on Thursday.  She didn't have sexual relations with anyone else.  I'm just curious if she will need a different treatment regimin, or trying Zithromax again might do it this time!   Once, again thanks for your help.
