Azithromycin and potentially effected test results

I had a possible exposure in Amsterdam 3 weeks ago. 2 days after the exposure I took a 4 day course of Azithromycin (1 per day, 250 mg) for a soar throat (self medicated). 12 days after, I tested for STIs and the tests for Syphillis, Gonnorrhea and Chlamydia, which resulted in Negative results.

1) Could my Azithromycin course 2 days after potential STI contraction have affected the test?
2) Could I have contracted something which was treated by my opportunistic course of antibiotic?
3) Is there a way to know for sure whether I contracted something or not?

PS: I never showed any symptoms, of penile discharge etc. But I believe I am imagining/ feeling an occasional slight burn while urinating now.

Have I contracted something despite having tested negative?

Syphilis testing is reliable after about 6 weeks of potential exposure.
12 days is not enough time for a response to trigger a positive result (if you were infected).

Other than that, antibiotics could interfere with test results, but mainly in the case of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.

Whether or not that Azithromycin would affect Syphilis is unknown to me... but I think its conceivably possible it would stop the incubating infection (if one took place to begin with).

Either way... since you used a condom, your exposure was minimal and I don't think you were affected with an STI of any kind.

Early treatment is key for an STI.  You need to address the burning, regardless.  I am following a couple of people on here who are having a burning sensation despite being tested negative, no discharge, who have also taken antibiotics at various stages of their ordeal.  I am female and my partner and I both have the same issue.  No answers here yet.  Good luck.

Hey Life360....Syphilis came back negative, and herpes ulcers not shown up.

So question still fundamentally remains, will antibiotics so early on in the game (2 days from act) cure a potential infection which has a 7+ day incubation period.

Very afraid and very scared about HIV....it tested negative at 12 days. 28 day test up next.....very anxious...and petrified.

Your only exposure would be herpes and syphilis and if your pubic mound area did not make rubbing with hers there would not be any risk. Also since no std could get inside your urethra, you were not exposed to gono, chlamydia or hiv and any interia urethra irritations would not be related to the act.
