Although the doctor insisted that my rash was not a symptom of an STD, I asked that a test be conducted for 100% certainty. A culture was performed and I tested negatively for Herpes. I have already tested negatively for HIV using a "RapidRapid shallow breathing Blood Test" as a local center.
The medicine was extremely effective and my rash largely cleared up in 2 days and was completely gone in 3 days.
As my final questions for peace of mind:
1) Because the bacterial medicine was so effective and the doctor felt that my rash was not a symptom of HIV or Herpes, plus a negative Herpes culture and HIV test were performed, can I feel extremely confident that I am "safe"?
2) My fiance's Pap Smear came back and was 100% fine too. So again should I feel that we are "safe"?
I apologize about the seemingly paranoid questions. Just hearing one more time that I'm fine is appreciated. Thanks again. I guess the one reason for my paranoia is I have had "sweats" at night on and off since this situation started.
Sorry about the double post, just hoping an MD could reply.
I assume this is a fairly open and shut case. I did not engage in any high-risk behaviors other than unprotected vaginal sex with my fiance. About 2 months ago, she tested positively for Chlamydia, which shocked both of us.
We took antibiotics at the time (although I had tested negatively). That's what caused the STD paranoia. Then, I had the bacterial infection, which made me more nervous.
Nonetheless, it seems like I have nothing to worry about but would like to get a second opinion on this.
The doctor doesn't respond to questions on this forum. If you want his opinion, you need to pay the 20$ US (or thereabouts) on the other STD forum, and he will answer your questions.
You sound fine to me. (But I'm just an internet yahoo.) You had the STD testing and came out negative. I wouldn't worry any more about whatever skin condition you had being related to an STD.
