Blood filled blisters outside vagina

I was diagnosed with Oral/genital herpes about 3 years ago. I never experienced an outbreak or had open sores on lips or genitals. About a year ago I started to get this blood filled blisters, they are the size of a dime, they are very painful and so uncomfortable. I asked my doctor in the last visit and she said it might be a lymph node, I didn't have the blister at the time so she couldn't take a sample. I know how a lymph node feels like and I have also gotten them outside the vagina but these blisters are different. I tried to compare herpes outbreaks with it but they don't look the same. I also noticed that I get them a few days before my period, maybe a week before. I'm also sexually active, I'm in a relationship and he is my only patner. Could this be an infection? Does someone have an idea what's going on with my body?

usually herpes lesions aren't blood filled.

at this point wait until you have them again and be seen within 48 hours of their appearance. you can get a lesion culture for herpes done to see if they are herpes or perhaps your provider will be able to better diagnose you based on their appearance.  

if your provider isn't able to figure out what they are, ask for a referral to a dermatologist for a further evaluation.

From you first sentence you are telling us you tested positive for HSV-1 and HSV-2.  Let us know if that's the case.  

blood filled blisters that are painful and uncomfortable might be herpes outbreaks (gential i persume if that's where they are).  

If you are sexually active AND having unprotected insertive penile-vaginal sex please know for sure what STDs you have and get tested for the full pannel.   If you are having unprotected sex then it COULD be an infection, we don't know.  Test are pretty good at giving you answers.
