I recently noticed the appearance of brown spots at the base of my penis, around the hairline, generally centering around my hair follicles. I'm not really sure how long they have been there. I sometimes shave around the shaft, and may have noticed one or two on the top side of the trunk that gradually appeared over the years. Only recently did I notice that there were actually more on both sides, but mostly on the right side of the shaft and part of the scrotum. None of them itch or hurt. Again, they seem to center around hair follicles. Most of them are about the size of a pinhead, but some are a bit larger. To be honest, they look like freckles or moles, but I'd like to get an opinion. It has been years, but I would occasionally visit the tanning salon and tan in the nude, usually covering my pubic region with a cloth. I also have a fair share of freckles on my shoulders and upper back, as well. If you need age to take into consideration, I'm 40. I've also been a bit of a serial monogamist over the years, and don't play the field, sexually. I know that doesn't necessarily mean I'm not at risk of contracting an STD, but thought I'd mention it.
