Bruises

I have a question about a bruise i have had for a while. Its on the rim of my penis head.
The marks look like veins and are pruple or light pink.
There is no pain associated with the bruise and I had it checked out at the doctors however
before I could go to my appointment with the dermatologist I left the country to work abroad. ]
I just wanted to know if the bruises are broken blood vessels and how long it will take to go away.
I am sexually active should I be abstaining to speed the healing process. It seems like a long time to be healing.
Is there anything I can do?

Some bruising into the skin (i.e., not under it) might in effect tattoo the skin with blood pigment, but I'm not certain.  If you are assured it is not a sign of a significant health problem and there is no abnormality except discoloration, why is it important to remove it?  Removal probably would be difficult, but this is way outside my expertise.  But if that's what you want, see a dermatologist for confirmation of the diagnosis and perhaps treatment--although derm might refer you on to a plastic surgeon.

Sorry about the missing information.
It has been quite a long time. Almost a year. I actually saw two doctors and both agreed that they were bruises. They almost look like dark veins.
I have no idea why it has been so long so I was wondering if there is anything that I could be doing to speed this long recovery up, or if they are broken blood vessels? Can these be removed?

I'm not sure what to  make of this.  Did your doctor agree it is a bruise?  You don't say how long it has been; it can take discoloration from a bruise up to a couple of weeks to resolve.  It doesn't sound like any STD.
