I have a recurring bump on my scalp, which is very tender to the touch. Accompanying this bump (which is impacting an area of approximatly 3-inches in height in length) is a VERY tender and swollen lymph note on my neck. I get these bumps in various parts of my scalp multiple times a year. After the initial swelling, a open sore appears that itches and drains liquid, taking weeks to heal. I have been to numerous doctors for this--both when the bump appears and once it erupts--but have never had a confirmed diagnosis. I contracted herpes simplex 2 20 years ago, and am concerned that the bump and the herpes are related. I have had the open eruption swabbed and tested for herpes, but it came back negative. Any thoughts?
