Burning/Needle pricking sensation in thigh

Burning/Needle pricking sensation in thigh

Hello Doctor,
I am a 26/m and did a very stupid thing recently. Had sex for the first time in life and that too with a pro (female). I wore protection and had no oral.
4-5 days after that I got diarrhea (3 times a day) for 4 days. I also observed little redness near anus. Got very stressed thinking about stds and the next day I got a swollen anus. Seemed like some extreme dryness feeling inside. Sometimes it would be inflammed also. Went to doc and he said its hemorroid, which I've never had before.
That problem went away in 2 months gradually but then I started getting this burning feeling in my inner thighs (both legs), crease, groin and scrotal area. This happens roughly 2 times a month for 1 week long each atleast and has been there for last 4 months now.
I've been to 2 std clinics, 2 GPs. std clinics tested me for everything except herpes. I got tested by GP at 3 months and 4.5 months for herpes. I told them to use gG test but still they used Focus IGG Serum for HSV1, HSV2. The results both time were negative. Please answer my following ques:
1.what std can this be. can herpes cause inflammed anus and burning in thighs, crease area ?
2. doctor says this is because of anxiety but I think I have anxiety because of this burning.
3. Were the tests which I had okay. I know it wasn't Herpeselect but still should I get retested in few months ?
Doctor, please keep in mind that I've had sex only once and this was it. I've never had any such problems before, thats why I think its because of some std.
Your answer will really calm me down and help in diagnosis.
Thanks,
tony12

You don't have any STD.  Your symptoms don't sound like it, and the fact that you happend to get a gastrointestinal illness a few days after sex undoubtedly was a coindicidence.

You may have had the HerpeSelect test, which is the only herpes blood test provided by Focus Technologies. There may be confusion between you, the GP, and/or the lab about gG vs IgG--which sound similar but mean entirely different things.  But it probaby doesn't matter:  the problem with the older (IgG/IgM) herpes tests is that they don't accurately distinguish between HSV-1 and HSV-2; but a negative result reliably means you are not infected with either virus.  So you unequivocally did not get herpes from your sexual encounter.

Finally, I can't compete with the opinion of a provider who has acutally examined you, especially 2 STD clinics plus 2 docs.  I agree your symptoms are primarily due to anxiety.  You do not have any STD, including HIV and herpes.

Good luck--   HHH, MD

Hello Dear Doctor,
I forgot to mention above that I did have a pimple like boil (almost as big as a dime) on my left inner thigh. It did hurt, I pricked it (I know i should not do that), blood and pus came out and it lasted for 2 days. Other than that I have no redness, no visible thing worth mentioning. Can this be herpes ?
thanks

Doctor you are great!
Thanks for answering my question. It is such a great relief.
Just to kill this worry for ever, please tell me:
I had test at 140 days. thats enough long, right ?
I have lab report and it says:
HSV1 IGG, SERUM (Focus)
HSV2 IGG, SERUM (Focus)
Is this still the right test ?
thanks a million doctor,
Tony

Yes, that's the right test.  140 days is plenty, much more than enough.  The pimple/boil clearly wasn't herpes.
