Burning sensation in penis

by JonEdin, Dec 21, 2008 05:59AM
I recently received oral sex from another man and shortly afterwards experienced burning sensation in my penis after urinating.

I have tested negative for chlamydia and gonorreah but am still experiencing discomfort.

Any ideas what this could be?!!

Test for NGU and a UTI, and get your prostate examined if the NGU is negative.

If both are fine, then see a urologist.

The tests have come back and I have been told that I have a urine infection but I don't know any more than tat till I ave my follow up appointment.

In the meantime I am wondering if this was as a result of the incident above and is this something I could pass on to others?

Without knowing what the name of the infection is, I can't answer that.  Its certainly something you need to ask your doctor about.

Hi

Streptococcus was found in my urine.

Amoxycillin was prescribed however unfortunately I am still experiencing the same symptoms, burning penis after urinating (which actually persists for a period of time afterwards)

I had a urine test recently which was clear although this was was on the final day of the antibiotics and I wonder if this can be definitive or do I really need to test after I have completed the course?

Part of me hopes I still have the UTI as this would explain the symptoms but I reckon that realistically the antibiotics should have cleared it up.

I do have an appointment with a urologist but this is not for another two weeks and its just freaking me out as to what this could be!!

I should have added that I also have a redness at the tip of my urethra which seems worse after masturbation.

All of these symptoms have been present for about two months now!

Ask your doctor if they did a sensitivity test when they did the urine testing.  That will let them know what medication is best for that particular infection.

If you are still symptomatic, return to your doctor.  Your tests for stds were negative - what else could it be?

Hi again!

The strep was apparently sensitive to amoxycillin and from the test result today the infection has cleared but as I said I'm still experiencing symptoms

Hopefully the urologist can shed some light but its driving me crazy!

Thanks for all your comments in any event!

All the best

John
