Caffeine mimicking chlamydia?

I had symptoms very similar to chlamydia but the results for my partner and i came back negative. I still took 1500mg of Azithromycin to be safe, however i still had symptoms. Upon returning to the doctor, he asked me if I drank alot of caffeine. When I told him I had a problem with drinking too much caffeine, he told me that's what caused the irritation and slight burning during urination, and that it could also cause some slight discharge from my penis. He said I should cut back my caffeine intake and that I should be fine in a week. Anyone heard of this? HELP!

I have heard of a number of things that could cause "symptoms" including caffeine. I would take your Dr's advice and if things do not improve then I would have a follow up visit.
