Can Trichomonas be transmitted without intercourse?

My partner was diagnosed with Trichomonas, and so that pretty much meant I had it too. She does not know how she got it, as she has not had intercourse with anyone else, and neither have I. The doctor told her she could've contracted it from sharing a towel with another female. Is that true? Or can Trichomonas only be contracted via unprotected intercourse?

I also  was, just diagnosed with trichomonas and my doctor told me i should be suspicious of my husband which i have lost a lot of sleep not knowing what to do. My doctor told me there was no other way I could of got this only through a unprotected sex outside my marriage. Knowing that I was faithful to my husband has put a lot of confusion in our marriage not knowing if he has cheated on me or not. My husband swears to be faithful but my doctor says other wise. If you find out any answers please share them with me so I know where I'm going with this.

Yes, that's probably true.  There isn't a whole lot we know about trich, and though science doesn't offer us a lot, there are way too many people who post on here about trich who haven't had sex in awhile, or who have been totally monogamous for there not to be some truth to those claims.
