Can a chancre appear the day after sexual contact

Hello,

I recently visited my doctor about seeing if I have syphilis, I am currently waiting on the results.
My concern arose after I noticed a bump around the base of my shaft.
The doctor told my that it is most likely a sebaceous cyst, rather than syphilis but I am not convinced.

My question is can a chancre appear the day after sexual contact, or is the 21 day average typically upheld?
I have read that it takes a minimum of 10 days for the chancre to appear.

Thank you

No symptoms of any std would appear the very next day after sexual contact.

Well, a sebaceous cyst is a puss filled oil gland.  Basically a very bad case of acne in my book. A chancre from syphilis is sunken in the middle, not raised and crusty around the edges.  Two very different appearances.  But still...you would not get a syphilis sore the very next day after contact.  Period.

Do you by any chance know how plausible it is to confuse a chancre with a sebaceous cyst?

thanks for responding
