Can chlaymdia return?

I was diagnosed with chlaymdia late march and treated with azithromycin, i then had sex with a new partner two and half weeks later (symptoms felt like they went). I did a retest 6 weeks after this came back clear, i then did another test 2 weeks after me and this partner last had sex (we stopped seeing eachother). This came back positive, i presumed he had given me it, he then got a text saying clear. I am not on good terms with this person, i havent been with anyone else so could i have got reinfected somehow? Im getting worried.. did my first treatment not work properly? It would have been a long time if it didnt and im worried about infetellity etc.

I now have took another set of antibiotics and i am not going to have sex again...!!
