Can partners have two different test results?

So about two weeks ago I went in for my annual exam and got a call saying I tested positive for chlamydia. I have tested negative for the last 5 years. So I told my partner and had him tested and treated. He got the results and everything was negative. I know 100% that I have been completely faithful, so how can I test positive and him negative. We have had unprotected sex from the time of my last exam until this last annual exam. How does this happen?? I am being accused of cheating since I tested positive, but I know for a FACT that I have not cheated or been unfaithful!! Please give me some answers as to how I can explain this to my partner. Thanks!

either he was treated for chlamydia and didn't tell you or you had a false positive. if you didn't already take the antibiotics for chlamydia, you can ask your provider to repeat chlamydia testing for you.

The same exact thing happened between me and my husband. I got pregnant and tested positive but when he got tested a few weeks before that it was negative. I didnt cheat on him or anything and so i personally dont get it. Somehow him and i got through it and he decided to believe me even though everything was pointing to me cheating. Even his doctor said i had to have cheated on him. Its one heck of a perdicament though and i felt your pain. Just stick through it and if he doesnt believe you then maybe he just isnt worth it :/
