Can saliva transmit herpes?

by latina69, Nov 11, 2009 10:14AM
I have HSV-Type II, and am asymptomatic, and had a sexual encounter with a man with a live cold sore. I did not touch his mouth in any way shape or form, and am sure that the only way I could get HSV-type I from him is by having his mouth touch my body in some way. My question is, is it possible his saliva could trasmit me the HSV-type 1 because he spit on my vagina and used it as lubrication.

Thanks

I am fairly sure that if you have one type in a specific area, you are not likely to get the other in the same area. There is a forum dedicated to herpes.  The link is above in blue letters.  You should post your questions there.
