Can you give yourself oral herpes?

by Polina, Nov 03, 2008 06:16PM
Can a person give themselves oral herpes inside the mouth if they have genital herpes?  If you scratch or rub your thigh, not knowing you have a lesion there & then not realizing you put your fingers in your mouth right away...can you pass the infection on??

Its doubtful after you've been infected a few months, as you'd have antibodies to protect you from an infection in a different part of the body.
