Can you have herpes for a long time and just now show symptoms?

by AM1404, Feb 17, 2009 08:02PM
Two months ago it started to burn when I pee and last week I've had these bumps around the base of my penis. The bumps have what looks to be white heads but it hurts to pop them but on the base of my penis there is an area about half in inch in diameter that is completely red and painful to touch. My doctor perscribed my doxycycline just in case for chlamydia. But at the time of taking the meds I was still active with my partner and It's still burning when I urinate. Now my partner says she has bumps around her vagina. These bumps dont look like herpes but what else could it be?

Sincerely,
MLK

Were you actually tested?  Has your partner been tested?  Has your doctor seen your bumps?

Since the doxy didn't work, you need to be seen again and actually TESTED and examined - both you and your gf need to be.
