My Dr. recommended I have a cryo done. Is this procedure necessary for my condition? I have read that mild dysplasia will regress in most cases. I do not want to go through with the procedure if it's not necessary, however; if it is, I am more than will to.
I would also like to know if HPV will remain in my system or will my immune system fight it off?
Did you ask your doctor what your concerns were? If you didn't, that's the next step. Find out if your specific case warrants the cryotherapy. The chances are good that your doctor has performed dozens, if not hundreds, of cryo procedures in cases SIMILAR to yours, which is why she might be recommending it. So talk to her further about it. Tell her you are still unsure and wait for a response.
If you are still uncertain, get a second opinion.
Whatever you do, don't take anything you read here, or on any other forum, as the last word. You are talking about a medical procedure post scope diagnosis, and taking the advice of a bunch of internet rubes probably isn't in your best interests. I assume you already know this. This should be a decision you make with your doctor.
