Chances of Herpes

I was thinking about something that I don't really understand...

Lets say that you sleep with a woman who in fact HAS herpes (HSV2). She has the average amount of outbreaks per year and does not use any medication. (what is average?) Let's say 4-6 times a year. That still leaves very little chance that she can pass it on (right?) because most of the days of the year she still does not have an outbreak (or is shedding). Now on top of that, the guy wears a condom.

Is this a dumb assumption (disregarding the fact that some people have many more or less outbreaks a year)?

I'm just trying to justify why I don't have herpes (knock on wood---don't want to jinx it). IgG comes back Monday or Tuesday...I just hope I'm not on the floor crying after I get the results (unless they are tears of joy and promises to God).

Yeah but the catch to that $4 plan is...it's only for the 200mg acyclovir and it's a max of 30 tablets/month.  It only covers episodic therapy, not suppressive therapy at that price :(  bastards.

Acyclovir is also one of those $4 Walmart/Target scripts...

If you are in the US - you can get suppressive therapy with acyclovir even cheaper than that! check out the link on the herpes homepage to drugplace.com. It's 6 weeks of suppressive therapy for under $25 with the HHP discount!!!

The longer she has had it the less chance of spreading it. If it's a long term relationship ask her to go on suppressive therapy, it will really down the chances of you getting it. If she cant go on valtrex due to financial reasons acyclovir is pretty cheap, I pay $30 a month for it. (I don't have any insurance) Good luck on your test results!
