With the most commonly used lab tests for chlamydia (specially, a DNA or "NAAT" test), false positive results are very rare. It is correct that chlamydia is rarely if ever transmitted by hand-genital contact. Some sort of undetected condom failure is more likely. You'll never know for certain, but I don't see that it matters. You've been treated and shouldn't have any further problem. Your partner needs treatment even if her test is negative.
Yes, I should have been retested, but the doctor insisted that I take the pills immediately in her office. I will see if my partner tests positive. After reading many posts, it is my understanding that I could not have been infected from the vaginal fluid that was on my hand. Is that correct?
Well can't say what happened and can't say if you had a false positive since you medicated.
Correct. No vaginal or oral sex since the event described above. I took two pills of Azithromycin after receiving the results yesterday from the test on March 20. The test is Chlamydia Trachomatis RNA, TMA.
False positive is possible, you have not had sex since last test? oral sex?
