Chlamydia Treatment

Hi Dr,

31 y/o male who had unprotected sex with a female of unkown status 4 months ago. about 2 months after incident, I was diagnosed with Prostitus. Symptoms were urge to urinate and occasional itching in penis. Treated with Cipro (500mg 2X daily 30 days). Symptoms came back almost immediatly after ending Cipro treatment and am now on Bactrim DS 2x daily 30 days.

My question is if my symptoms are not due to Prostatis, but instead a chlamydial or gonorrhea infection from my earlier encounter, would these antibiotics wok against these STD's?

they are due to prostatitis, chlamidia would have been killed with all that treatment. take your treatment. U should be fine IN THese 30 days. If not u have chronic bacterial prostatitis, which lasts about 3 months.
