Chlamydia maybe?

by JustJP, Jan 10, 2008 09:35PM
My woman for the past two years gets tested every six months and is on birth control.  Her last test showed her positive for chlamydia so i went to the local HD and got tested and treated blindly.  I didn't have any symptoms but if I did have chlamydia how effective is the 1gram of Azithromycin that i was given?  The nurse who treated me said no sex or alcohol for a week so does it take a week to fully work?  I'm really nervous about this whole ordeal because I've never experienced anything like this.

1gram of Azithromycin has a very high cure rate for Chlamydia, usually reported at >95%.  You should be fine.

You should abstain from having sex for a week, and make sure your partner is treated at the same time.
