Chlamydia

Hello, fisrt of all just wanted to say I love your work.

Here goes my question:

I am 36 yr male. I had unproteced sex, with another guy, for about 40 seconds, without ejaculating.

This tuesday when I woke up I noticed, for the first time, a small spot on my underwear.
I noticed I had a little fluid on the tip of my penis, almost like pre-***. I does not smell or has any color.

By the end of the day I went to the doctor and he prescribed me 1 mg Zitromax, just in case it was chlamydia or ghonorrea.

No urine test or any kind of exams were asked me to do.

It has been almost 48 hours and the discharge hasn't gone away.

Is it possible it was not a STD?
I ride bike three times a week and I am afraid it could be prostate cancer.
How long does it take the discharge to go away after the medication?
Is there any other disease that has the same symptoms that the antibiotic will not work?
I am really concerned about this.

Thanks, Bruno

Bruno, you're not bothering anyone unless they tell you that you are.  Zithromax does not have any effect on prostatitis.  It is actually one of the few drugs that has very good prostate penetration, but it does absolutely nothing once it penetrates the prostate.  The drugs used for prostatitis are usually Levaquin and Ciprofloxacin.  Like I said, it's not an easy thing to cure.  See a urologist.  1 gram of zithromax is effective against chlamydia, and "might" be effective against gonorrhea, although it's recommended to use 2 grams for gonorrhea.

Sorry to bother again. But wouldn't Zitomax cure if it was prostatitis?

I will go to an urologist just in case.
I will see if I can get at least an urine and a sperm test.
I noticed whenever I return to my bike training I feel very uncomfortable in the perianal area.
I even had a cebaceous cyst once, and they told me it could have been from the friciton of the seat.
My major concern was prostate cancer anyway.
Thanks again.

Bruno, your question is a question that cannot be answered by many urologists.  No one really knows the cause of prostatitis.  It could be due to both, but i've specifically read that riding a bike for prolonged periods of time can add to the symptoms of prostatitis.

If the problem is prostatitis.
Could it be from the bike rides or it would be an STD anyway?

Bruno, I recommend going back and seeing your doctor.  This is what's wrong with doctors who simply give their patients pills without doing any tests.  Now, you'll never know if you indeed had gonorrhea and/or chlamydia.  In most cases, it usually takes a couple of days after your start treatment for the STD to clear up.  Also, you can get checked by a urologist to make sure you don't have prostatitis.  However, I wouldn't be concerned with prostate cancer.
