Ciprofloxacin and Azithroycin

I have a question:

I took Ciprofloxacin 500mg two times a day for 10 days. The medicament didn't work. Now the doctor gave me 2g Azithromycin singe dose.

I read online that the combination of Ciprofloxacin and Azithromycin can be dangerous. Is this still the case, if the last Ciprodose was one week before the 2g Azithromycin dose?

Sorry I didn't make it clear in my previous comment:

I am at the moment in a country which has a relatively poor health care quality.

The doctor gave me this combination, but I do not completely trust his expertise. Pharamists are even worse, would be like asking a waiter for medication advise.

Do you happen to know how long Ciprofloxacin stays in the bloodstream? Thank you very much.

I have seen several other people post about taking that combination, but if concerned talk to your Dr and/or Pharamist.

To clearify: I don't expect to get medication instructions, my question is:

Is it normal / considered not dangerous to take Azithromycin 2g one week after taking Ciprofloxcin 500mg twice a day over 10 days. I am currently in a current with low medical standards, so I rather double check before following the doctors medication instructions.
