Condom Protected with CSW

Drs.

I have been in a long time relationship with a female.  We have been having unprotected sex for 6 years.

This past February 1st (6.5 weeks ago) I made a mistake and had condom protected vaginal and oral with a stripper csw.  I have been freaked out ever since and went to a local Planned Parenthood for testing on March 15th (6 weeks post exposure).

I had a rapid blood test for HIV at 6 weeks (finger pinch) - Negative
Gonnerhea uring test came out negative
however my chlamydia test came back positive.

How can this be?  I thought the condom protected me from this disease?

I am now also freaking out about HIV again.

Please help me

Is there any change my chlamydia test is a false positive?  I am afraid of losing my girl friend because of this.

Thanks so much

Welcome to the Forum. I will try to help.  Your positive chlamydial test is perplexing. If you wore the condom from start to finish of your vaginal sex it would have prevented chlamydial infection.  This would leave several other possible explanations for your positive test- your GF may have acquired chlamydia or there may have been an error in the test and/or how it or the results were processed.  Modern chlamydial tests are highly reliable and have very, very few false positive results- I think that lab error or mislabeling is more likely to occur than the test being wrong.

If you have confidence that you used the condom throughout, I suggest you repeat the test. If it is positive, you need to be treated, as does your GF.  To not do so puts her at risk for serious complications of infection.  EWH

A portion of NGU is caused by chlamydia and the therapy for the two is the same.  Having been treated for chlamydia, you have also been treated for NGU.  Trich is rare in men and difficult to test for.  Your penile itch is more likely due to your increased attention than to any STD.

Time for this thread to end.  EWH

Sorry forgot to mention every big once in a while I feel a slight itch on the tip of my penis.  Not very often but I have felt it a couple times.

Dr Hook,

I know I said in my last HIV thread that I would have no more questions so I hope this question is acceptable.

I have a question about NGU and perhaps Trich.  I was not aware of these STD's.  I thought I only needed to worry about Chlamydia and Gonnerhea.

Would NGU be an after affect post chlamdyial treatment?  Do I also need to be tested for this as well?  As I stated in my HIV thread in regards to my follow up Chlamydia test I urinated an hour prior to providing the sample.  This sample was also used for a urineanalysis.  That was also clear.

I was feeling fine after treatment on 3/28 however in the middle of April I had some groin, abdomen discomfort.  I dont believe I have had any discharge.  There was one time as I was starting to  masturbating a substance come out that was unlike pre *** and nothing I have seen before.  That happened only once.  I have parted open my urethra opening slightly to look for any discharge and there seems to be a small amount of liquid in there.  Is that normal?  The other day I tried to pinch some out and only a little came out and it was clear and slightly sticky.

Could I be confident my treatment for chlamydia would have cured possible NGU as well?

I apologize I just have never heard of these STD's before and not sure if I needed to worry or be tested.

Thanks again

As I said, it would be most unusual for to to get infected (with chlamydia or HIV) from your encounter with the CSW that you described.  EWH

Is it possible I was infected from my CSW?  I was last tested 2 years ago and everything came back negative.

I also know this is not the HIV forum so I will start a new thread if needed but what are your recommendations/advice on that
