Confused Please Help

by appleman1224, Apr 06, 2009 07:02PM
About 14 days ago I had a incident where a condom broke on me.  It took me a couple of minutes to notice so I know there was contact.  It was not with someone I would have expected to get anything from but it was also not someone I knew well.  About 4 days later I started to have some pain / burning after urinating.  It has never hurt while urinating only after.  I went to the doctor that day and was treated for Chlamydia and Gon.  (4 pills plus 1) and they took a urine sample.  It has now been 10 days since treatment.  I am feeling about 95% better.  I still have slight burning or irritation after urinating and sometimes just when I am sitting but not always.  My results came back negative.  Now the doctor is saying there isn't much they can do but wait for other symptoms.  I am pretty scared at the moment because I have no idea what is wrong.  Could this be something more serious like Herpes where I may not know for a long time?  Would this kind of irritation come from herpes or would it be while urinating or more intense?  I guess I am just confused and worried that I don't know what is wrong?  I am scheduled to see my family doctor on monday and I am looking for some advice on what to ask and maybe some peace of mind so I can sleep.  Could this actually be nothing like some of the doctors make it seem like at the walk in.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Wait about a week more, and have them do a urine test to look for white blood cells under a microscope, and then culture the urine to see if anything grows.  Most NGU is cured with azithromycin, but its possible they will find something with a culture.

It doesn't sound at all like herpes, by the way, and if you had unprotected oral, you could have gotten NGU from that.
