I recently had my annual physical and got an STD screen as I do every year, all results were fine, except for the HSV 2 IgG test:
HSV-1 IgG = .19
HSV-2 IgG = 1.40 H
HSV 1 IgM, IFA Antibody not detected
HSV 2 IgM, IFA Antibody not detected
I have had no symptoms that I can think of...should I be retested? What does this mean.....my doctor wrote on the test results that everything looked fine, but doesn't positive mean that I could pass this on to my partner? Did I get it from him? Last year all these tests were negative, so I am concerned as I am now wondering how I was exposed and how to discuss this with my partner as we are monogamous. Thanks in advance for your help as I am freaking out a little bit!
