Could I have passed STD to partner?

Doctor,

I received unprotected oral sex from a prostitute for about 1 minute before I stopped the experience and ejaculated on a towel using my hands.  About two hours later I received protected oral sex again.  The next few days I noticed a little discomfort on my penis but figured this was due to "rough" fellatio from the woman.  After both experiences I also washed and scrubbed with a lot of soap on and around my penis area so I'm wondering if the discomfort could be due to that.  I had been drinking alcohol so the next few days when I had some stinging when I urinated I didn't think anything of it.

In the past I have had gonorrea so just to be safe 3 days later I contacted my doctor who prescribed me with Suprax (1) 400mg tablet and Azithromycin (2) 500MG tablets.  My doctor said that within 1 hour the disease would not be able to be spread.

I took both pills just to be safe and later that afternoon (3 hours later) had unprotected sex with my partner.

Question.

1.) How at risk was I for contracting a disease from my experience and if so, what disease?

2.) Although my doctor had said the disease would be not able to be spread within an hour I still have some anxiety that I could have passed something to my partner.

3.) Since I have yet to go get tested for anything, how long should I wait after taking the medicine to go back for testing in order to not get a false result?

4.) Could my increase in awareness with irritation be due to anxiety or guilt after these experiences?  Since I am nott having any discharge, etc.

Any help or guidance you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Don't cheat on your wife and you don't have to worry.

Thank You Vance.  I think the redness may be caused from irritation due to using a condom.  I have been applying lotion and it seems to be getting better.  This is my final question.

Since I already took the medicine I need to wait 3 weeks to go see my doctor again to test for gonorrhea.  Since I did not show any signs, discharge, painful burning urination, etc. is there any way in the next few weeks I may begin to show signs if I have infected my wife by accident?

Thank You,

JD

I can't say what your Dr will or will not do.

Thos symptoms are not signs of gonorrhea.

Vance,

After having sex with my wife this weekend I am now noticing that my penis head is turning read and looks to have a bunch of little bumps on it.  Could the medicine not have worked and we could have passed gonorrhea back and forth over the weekend and I'm just now showing signs?

If I go to the doctor who prescribed me the medicine last Thursday will he even be able to give me more medication or tell if I have something?

Thanks.

Well your test results if you had gotten anything would probably show negative since you medicated before testing. So your tests in 3 weeks are probably meaningless.

The recommended time to wait is 7 days after medication is finished for unprotected sex. So yes 24 hrs is still possible.

It helps your chances of not getting a STD based on the 30 seconds. Overall the risk is low, most common is gonorrhea and NGU. Herpes and syphilis while possible and quite a bit lower risk. Overall I would not be concerned from the exposure.

We don't recommend testing unless symptoms occur and I would see no reason to recommend testing in your case (even if you had not medicated).

But the only way you will know if something was passed to her is for her to test.

Thank you Vance.  Should I have my partner get tested or wait until the results from my test in 3 weeks?  I do not want this to ruin my marriage.  The other problem I am facing is that she has planned a romantic weekend getaway for us this weekend and if I try to use a condom she will know something is up.

You had said it was possible to pass the disease 3 hours after taking the antibiotic, what about 24 hours?

Also, the unprotected sex was less than a minute with my partner.  If I did contract gonorrhea, NGU, herpes or syphillis would this help my chances of not spreading it.

Thank you.

1) Unprotected oral...low risk...gonorrhea, NGU, herpes and syphilis. Protected oral ...no risk.

2) Yes I believe it is possible

3)3 weeks

4) Yes it could and probably is the reason
